Lead installer

Responsible for planning and executing furniture installations of various sizes and scopes from delivery through punch list completion.  The installation lead directs the team and works alongside them.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accepts accountability for project success – cost, completion, schedule adherence, punch list, customer satisfaction, job site appearance and cleanliness, etc.
  • Leads installation crews – plans, organizes, and directs teams of various sizes
  • Helps train and develop new and less experienced installers
  • Delivers and stages product on site; inspects product for damage and ensures all product is accounted for
  • Maintains a clean and organized job site by neatly staging product and removing trash in a timely manner
  • Ensures product is installed correctly (per drawings and manufacturer instructions), efficiently, and safely
  • Coordinates installation and timing with general contractor and other trades on site
  • Proposes solutions to problems that arise in the field
  • Records and reports punch items using PlanGrid
  • Provides project team with status updates including progress and completion photos
  • Estimates time and manpower required to complete jobs
  • Communicates regularly with internal team (ie. Sales, Designers, Project Managers, Account Coordinators, and Scheduler).  Communicates with client on site as required.
  • Completes administrative tasks – time tracking, work order sign off, management of receiving paperwork and drawings  

 

EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in installation, carpentry, or related trade
  • Familiarity with Herman Miller systems furniture

 

SKILLS + ABILITIES

  • Mechanically adept; proficient with tools and equipment
  • Proficiency in reading floor plans and installation drawings
  • Efficient in material handling and logistics
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and basic building codes
  • C Class licensure
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Good oral and written communication skills; ability to speak and read English
  • Proficiency in app-based tools (ie. Outlook, PlanGrid, Ewok, etc.)
  • Conducts themselves professionally at all times
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills and is respected by others

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
